Why mulberry silk?
Mulberry silk is produced by silkworms fed a specific diet of mulberry leaves. It’s biodegradable, and when compared to synthetic fabrics, it has a much lower environmental impact. Using natural fibers like silk in eco-printing ensures that the end product is more environmentally friendly than conventional synthetic textiles.
Why we use natural dyes?
The technique uses natural materials like plant leaves, flowers, and other organic elements to imprint patterns onto fabric, usually with minimal use of chemicals. Since mulberry silk is a delicate, high-quality fabric, it pairs well with natural dyes that maintain the fabric's softness and sheen.
Traditional textile dyeing processes often involve harmful chemicals, heavy metals, and synthetic dyes that can pollute the environment. Eco-printing avoids this, focusing on using organic pigments from nature, which are safer for both the artisan and the environment.
